I love to hear "I'll Fly Away" with it's old-time country gospel rhythm. So many of the songs at our church are those new things that just repeat, repeat, repeat. No harmony and not much soul. What's one of your favorites?

The Country Gospel and Southern Gospel is the most peaceful of music.
The soulful sounds of a Sunday singing are lost in today's contemporary world.

Don't forget the original Carter Family, A.P., Maybelle & Sarah. They did some really great old gospel songs, my favorite is "Diamonds in the Rough". Johnny Cash's "My Mother's Hymn Book" is really outstanding & includes "I'll Fly Away", & many others.

I love country gospel. My favorite is "I Saw The Light" and "Precious Memories" Yes Caveman you are right on Johnny & Jody. I also agree with your venting. Maybe if they keep doing it enough they will have nothing but Boney Fingers then they will break off. I couldn't help but laugh and I needed that. Some great answers here.

I'm ashamed of some of the classic buffs on here. All those greats and they fail to mention Luke the Drifter AKA Hank Williams Sr. I saw th light, where the soul of man never dies and so on. The man had it all and made you feel it. So shame on you Classic buffs for forgeting one of if not the greatest of all time!
