No, but like many Americans they seem to think that New Mexico is not part of the US.

This has become such a problem that there was an article in the New York Times, some time back entitled One of the 50 states is missing.

New Mexico is also the only state to have USA written on the license plates. And when I was in college, I worked at a local hotel you wouldn't believe the types of questions people would ask. Questions ranging from whether they need a passport, to how far fro the US border are we, and how safe is the water to drink. If wasn't true, it would almost be funny.

I saw a sign once that said "when the last american leaves the state of texas, please, for the love of God, take down the flag. thats been several years ago and new mexico is the same way. the illegals must have taken over new mexico. :)

Nope...he felt that he would be in a foreign country because of all the NON AMERICAN / ILLEGALS that are there !

However, I refer you to someone who sounded drunk with the qoute " that depends on what "is" is"...and THAT sounds like drunken gibberish !
