If you give someone your heart, and they step all over it, then they're not the one for you. Someone who loves you back would never step all over your heart. ♥

I think it has a lot to do with the presentation. If you lay your heart down on the ground in front of someone, sometimes it's hard not to step on it. If you wrap it up like a present, sometimes it can get lost in the wrapping. If you exchange your heart with someone else, equal to equal, and ask them to take care of it as you will do with theirs, your chances of ending up with a messy squash are reduced by consideration.

Because all people care about is themselves, there are few who truly want the best for the other person even when it means doing things a little differently than planned.
Next time, be careful before you give your heart away.

I don't know but I wish I knew. Mine has been stepped all over so many times, and I am so sick and tired of it. The last boyfriend I had, I trusted more than anyone in my life, and loved more than I had ever loved anyone in my life, and yet he still stepped all over my heart, broke it into millions of pieces, kicked me out of our home and his life, and has been slandering my name ever since. Now, seven months later, I am finally really angry (not pining over him) and am going to confront him about slandering my name, and sue him if he doesn't stop. He has messed with the wrong person/woman!

Why would you want to give someone your heart?
You need your heart to carry you through life!
Treasure your heart and give them your hand instead. That way when they decide to kick you to the curb, it wasn't your heart they kicked but they just let go of your hand so another can take their place.
