I know how to set the min. before it goes on,but it never stays on very long and then the screen goes black until I get back on.Thank you!

It sounds like it is dropping into a power management state.


My question to you is, what is wrong with that?

In a screen saver you are still wearing out your monitor, burning away the hours of what is a limited life.

In power management there are only a very few parts of the monitor left energized. These tend to be the bits that hardly ever wear out.

You can change the power management settings by clicking on the "Power..." button on the Screensaver tab of the Display Properties.

in windows vista click control panel
click appearance and settings
click on theme
set the screen saver to never turn off.
click appy
ok.

For XP, go to Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance>Power Option, set your monitor to never turn off.
