Lawyers do not know all the laws that's why they specialise similar to lets say doctors do eg neurologist, psychiatrist, paediatrician etc. In law we have industrial lawyers, political lawyers, criminal lawyers, then there are lawyers that help government implement acts and policies etc. The point I am making is that there is specialisation throughout all the fields. In most academic disciplines.

Lawyers are governed by both state and national ethical and legal (LAW) associations and are registered by them.

They find jobs within their communities just like anyone else. EG through advertisements or word of mouth. However sometimes they may be nominated to hold certain positions. EG Barrister, or Judge, commission etc etc.

If a lawyer looses a case will he still get paid? Yes most of the time unless there was a no win no pay clause between lawyer and client. OR if the lawyer was handling a case on PRO BONO (free) circumstances.

Psychologists generally get paid by the hour therefore if they help or don't help the client is irrelevant for they still get paid.

Nobody can know every law, but you need to know where to find the answers or who to go to, for things where you don't know the answer. Rules - lots of them, and if the lawyer doesn't follow them they can disbarred, which means kicked out of the profession. There are a lot of ways to find jobs - many lawyers are members of large law firms, others are on their own. And yes, they get paid whether or not they win the case, unless they have agreed to take the case on what's called contingency.

And the psychologist gets paid by the hour, not on whether the client thinks they were helped or not.
