Why is it teachers refuse to stop caring about students even when the students are mean to them?

For me, it's all about making a difference.
If someone is mean to you, they are crying out in pain
especially children. Sometimes it's all they know
Showing kindness, and that you will not give up on them, or not leave them, is what I'm (teachers) are here for.
When they grow up, they will remember, who in their lives cared enough and it will be me. And maybe they will know they are cared for and I will have made a difference. I know I already have. What a great question!!!
