We are involved in Iraq for many of the reasons you speak of, yet so many are against us having ever overthrown Saddam Hussein. We are only Saudi Arabia's best customers because of Extremely Liberal Environmentalist Groups - like the Sierra Club, fight against drilling for oil in our own country.
We need to get out of our relationship with the Saudi's and handle our own business.

The Saudis are basically thugs and whatever else they are they sure as hell ain't our friends. The chances of shaking them loose from their 1,000 year out of date 'religion' is ziltch. As long the 'royal family' allows the religious crackpots in Saudi Arabia to whip and stone women their royal @sses are safe. No matter what we say or do they're not going to change and if there ever was a 'change' the new regime would probably screw us as well. The sooner we exit the middle east and stop importing oil from there the better. Too bad for the women there....they should arm themselves and shoot start shooting the bastards that treat them like dirt! No kiddin'!

America may be the "biggest customer" of Saudi Arabia; but, America hasn't been the ultimate world power and moral authority of the world for many years.
American government has never promoted the "rights" of women, nor has American government ever recognized the "rights" of women without women confronting the American government.
Women were "used" during the years of WWII, because the "men" of America were in demand for fighting in Europe and Asia. American women believed they were contributing to the war effort; when, in reality, they were being used.
Once Japan and Germany capitulated, women were no longer needed to support the capitalists of America. These women, who had staunchly supported the United States, were once again relegated to "wife, mother, and homemaker".
Women, throughout history, have been oppressed; and, no one in America can speak out for reform for the suffering of women under the oppressive regime of Saudi Arabia until America recognizes its own oppressive against women in the United States.

We shouldn't be doing business with these pathetic, reprehensible people! they hate everything about America except for the money. they set up Saudi maddrasses (schools) here in every major city in America and teach exclusively Wahabbiism, a radical Jihad loving form of Islam. They use our own civil rights laws to their advantage here, all the while, allowing no civil rights in their backwards country. We should be destroying them, they are the true enemy of western civilization.
As far as women's rights go, where the heck is NOW when dealing with Islam. they get a pass because they hate Christianity, just like the National Organization for Women does. read the books Infidel by ayan hersi ali and Because they hate by Bridgette Gabriel. both are books about women in the the world of Islam. both are great reads and will wake you up to the Islamic world and why we need to deal with Islam very soon with extreme prejudice.

We should but it will never happen.
To do that we would have to move the house of Saud away from their form of Islam, Wahhabi. It has allowed them to rule for at least a couple of centuries because that is the form of Islam they force on their people. The house of Saud is a member in good standing in many power brokering organizations such as the Carlyle Group. That group includes the Bush family as well as many other prominent and influential American elite and the Bin Laden family.
In short, we can talk about it but the owners of power will not let it happen.
George does hold hands with their prince. Princess do that sort of thing. It's gay, but they do.

We need to stand up for the rights of everyone. We don't need to try to change their way of life but they need to see that you can't treat people bad like this. Some of it is similar to the way Hitler was with the Jewish people. There are other countries having this problem.

oppression based on religious dogma and attitude is tough to stop. even in our beloved U.S. it's a constant struggle to keep the religious "purists" from getting too much power. as a nation, i doubt we can change the religious beliefs of those in another country. we can, diplomatically, say "your law sucks", but, not much else.
