The electoral college vote is basically winner take all. The
candidate with the largest vote gets all of New York's
electoral vote.

Using the winner-take-all system we're using now, the Democratic ticket would win all of NY's electoral votes while the Republicans wouldn't win any electoral votes. No matter how close the popular vote is, it's still winner-take-all. Thanks!
