Yes, I was working cleaning motel rooms and in a bedroom of a suite changing the bed when a man came in. He asked my name and I told him Mrs. Jones, he said mrs huh like he was disappointed. Turned out he had dated the last women with the job but I needed to put him in the right frame of mind from the first word. Later he became friends with my boyfriend that I married later that month but never hit on me.

Yup! I bought a $6 'engagement ring' at a department store JUST to wear when I went out with my friends. It worked for the most part. It looked VERY real (it even fooled my mother for a minute). Some guys just don't CARE if you're married or engaged. Now, I really am married.

yes ! I wore an engagement ring when I went to a new drum corps to march for the summer. I didn't want the guys to hit on me or bother me. I wanted to just do what I came to do. LOL They wanted to know if I was a dike because I wanted to play lead trumpet. HAAA They actually turned out to be really nice guys and we had a lot of nice clean fun the whole summer long. I never had to worry about them hitting on me either.
you know and last week I went shopping and wore earplugs (the loud music drives me nuts) and the guys from the Gap kept bothering me . So I pretended that I was deaf so they'd leave me alone! HAAAAAAA
I only know a few things in sign language but it was funny. GO AWAY. lol

Although I had on an engagement ring on, it attracted the guys even more!!, my feeling on that is they realize you won't be a burden to them by insisting on a relationship and so it eases there mind and you get more attention. That was my personal experience.
Stalkers could care less what's on your finger, they want you no matter what. That's a scary thought!!!

sooooo many times. I've even have to do that while i'm pregnant. Most of the time I say I'm married though. Some guys will even say " So where is the ring?" LOL Men are crazy sometimes.

I let the girls in the office think I was married for years so I didn't have to deal with a lot from them about being single. It worked too!

Just the opposite.
I knew a woman who loved to have affairs with married men so I told her I was married when in fact I wasn't.
It worked.

Lol! I did once role-playing. It was hilarious. I came back to school and my other friends involved in role-play went around saying, "She's getting married!" "Is she going to have to drop out?" "I heard she's going to be a casino dealer!"
It was pretty funny, considering the rumors that spread were so stupid and so impossible.

Women have been known to wear wedding bands to discourage advances but you said "stalking". That's a whole different ballgame. That is serious stuff and should be referred to the authorities...or something like that.
