( i want to be a vet tech but am not sure about what the difference between the 2 is ) salary etc...

Simply stated....

AS is a two year degree
BS is a 4 year degree

For a AS degree, you study in a community college
For a BS degree, you study in a full university (or college)

Obviously, it is more advantageous for you to have a 4 year degree, and give you a better chances at an advancement. Not saying you can't advance with an AS degree; however.

Salary will heavily depend on the location.
