It seems as if non Yankee fans and yankee haters just can't stop bringing the Yankees up-- Is it that we are an orginaization that you would like to be but you don't want to admit it because you believe we "cheat" with all the money we use?

It seems that people can't put the Yankees out of their heads even if their team won a championship

Its like everyone always has to point back at the Yankees and say you suck every time we don't win. You never hear this towards the Angels or a team like the Tigers

This just must be because we have established such a great orginization that whenever we lose other teams make us hear it because they know their oppurtunities to do this will be slim.

By being the most well know & richest team in sports, the Yankees will always have 2 things no other sports franchise will ever have:

1) The largest fan base.
2) The most people that hate you.

Because of the Yankees' payroll, they have a legitamate shot at winning the WS every year. Even during the 1980's, as bad as those Yankees were, the begining of every season they had an advantage over other teams as winning the WS.
Because of this advantage and the pedestal they are on (an advantage doesn't mean they will win it just means the odds are in their favor, and they do fail more times then they succeed, it's just they have succeeded more times than any other team) when they do fail people poke fun at them the most, everyone likes to burt the bubble of the ones that are the most obnoxcious. Which is fine, some people are just jelous that the Yankees have the advantages other teams don't have, others dont't like the Yankees brag about how good they are, and others don't like the cockyness of the Yankees fans.

Success breeds enemies as well as fans.

The Yankees have been Major League Baseball's most successful franchise with 26 World Series championships and 39 American League Pennants. They are also the most successful franchise in North American professional sports history, passing the Montreal Canadiens' 24 titles in 1999.

They have also had some of the greatest hitters in baseball. Lou Gehrig , Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Roger Marris. Marris' homerun record of 60 in one season stood for many years(until the era of steroids?). Mickey Mantle and Roger Marris were the most lethal 1-2 punch in baseball in their time.
The Yankees had two of the best hitting catchers in baseball, although not at the same time. Yogi Berra and Elston Howard.

Yankees are and always will be used as baseball's measuring stick among the entire MLB... its never surprising how every other team uses the Yankees as a measure of achievement in regards to performance

Jealousy, pure and simple.
No team will ever equal the number of World Series Championships that the Yankees have won. Not in the lifetime of anyone alive today, anyway.
Yankee haters are punks. . . .

They can forget about the New Yankess, they jsut chose not to. You have to aks them why they keep posting about thier hatred for the team. And I am sure that a lot of these people will see this question, and will give you why they jsut keep ranting about the New York Yankees, and amybe it is because they have nothing else better to do.

True story. It's a matter of envy and petty jealousy. If their team had 26 WS titles, the haters would be on them too. I wonder why it is that even though Boston is our greatest rival, that most of the true Yankees fans accepted the fact that last year was just Boston's year.

Big difference is a matter of respect. Like it or not, I have respect for what that Sox team achieved last year.

You say the word "we" with such ease.  Are you part owner of the Yankees?  Did you have something to do with where they are today?  DOUBT IT!!

Why can't anyone forget about them? I forgot about them once my Indians beat them...I could care less about NYY. So here's one guy who doesn't care or either way. Nobody says you cheat-you guys just play Monopoly with a stacked deck.
