"I'd like to fly....but my wings have been so denied"
From Alice in Chains, "Down in a Hole". The entire song is just beautifully sad, from talking about holding red flowers in a tomb to losing your soul. That lyric speaks to me though, it was very poignant for me in a time when I was extremely despondent and frustrated with life, situations I couldn't control, and struggling with some self-harm issues. I wanted a way out so desperately but couldn't see what to do to get there. I'm great now but I still love the song and what it means to me!

You didn't say you're sorry
I don't understand
You don't care that you hurt me
And now I'm half the man
That I used to be when it was you and me
You didn't love me enough
My heart may never mend
And you'll never get to love me, again - "Never Again" Justin Timberlake

It's sad & unfortunately it's true. At some point in everyone's lives someone will break your heart, and it's usually your first real love, but I picked it because it's something everyone can relate to. And it makes me cry when I here it.

Hester lost her memory
forgot the names of family
she never spoke a word again
then one day they wheeled him in

Where've you been?
I've looked for you forever and a day
Where've you been
I'm just not myself when you're away

The song is Where've you been by Kathy Matea
It makes me think of my Mom who is in a care home suffering with a disease similar to Alzheimer's. Makes me cry every time.

As I softly kissed that lady, I cried just like a baby. Baby by Blake Shelton. He is talking about the death of his mother and how he didn't make it to her side in time.

"I never wanted to write these words down for you, with the pages of phrases of things well never do. So I blow out the candle, and I put you to bed." -Temple of the Dog 'Say Hello 2 Heaven'

I've lost many friends and had to give eulogies at many of their funerals
