I don't know how old you are but if you feel strongly about it, I would tell her that it is something that you really want to do for self expression.

Make sure you are doing it for the right reasons.
Keep in mind that after you dye your hair, your hair will sustain some damage.
My daughter did this and now here hair is dry and frail in those spots.

Good luck but if she does not let you, it is probably because she wants the best for you and since you live under her roof, you will have to wait till you are older and have your own place to do what you want.

If your Mother dye's her hair, then you have a end run on here to start with.

Mother, "I have been thinking and i think I would like to get my hair done. I know I will have to pay for it out of my money and I think that is only fair as it it something I don't need but want."
So Mom, what do you think?

here is where you stop talking and let her wheels turn and burn, she will mostly say what do you want to have done dear, or we can't afford it! I understand that and I will pay for it myself mom, stop talking and let her voice her thoughts, don't talk tell she reply's! That's the key to dealing with a adult, you make them think and if they can't come up with a convincing action your in! So what color, please tell me not purple! LOL

Tell her that you would like to get your hair done at a salon and what you want to do to it. She can either say yes or no. The easiest way is to just be honest. She might surprise you.

Ask her and if she says no, then accept that.

Getting your hair colored in a salon can be VERY pricey. You're looking at at least 50 dollars for a base color, and if you want highlights so you don't have one tone hair, it's going to be at least another 50. You're looking at around 100 dollars, plus a tip.

If you have the means, offer to pay for it, or at least half.

Simple...tell her that you would like to get your hair dyed and it would give you a boost of confidence. Tell her how happy you would be.

Ask her. Don't tell her. Then include her in it. Ask her what color she thinks will look good (and don't pick green or purple or something). She has to be seen with you, don't be an embarassment. :) Tell her you'll pay for it, and ask if she wants to go with you.

You don't try to convience her that will only make her mad.

Ask her and ask what her thoughts and opinions are. If she says no then accept it and move on.

Tell her you will pay for it ! And then do...
Tell her you are willing to do chores to earn the money. If you really are willing to do it. Works for my daughter!
