can i still enter a bid on a house that is under contract?

depends on state you live in.here in arkansas once a written offer is put on a house they cant take more offers or even show the property unless something happens and deal falls thru.

It depends on the contract, some contracts will be broken if the people have gone too long without purchasing and are outbid. It just depends on the deal, call the/a realtor and ask what it is.

You are entitled to write a secondary position offer, but the primary offeror will obtain/purchase the house regardless of the amount of your offer if the primary fulfills the terms of the offer.

Sure, you can write a "backup offer" but the first buyer gets a chance to fulfill his contract. If he can't, yours kicks in. I've seen 4th and 5th backups work.

If the seller still wants to accept back up offers, you may. They are under no obligation to respond.
