in 05 my hubby and i lost 5 ppl we knew. most were family, but one was a friend of mine. although he was an older guy and had health problems, i didnt actually know he was going to die. the last time i saw him he told me he was being moved to a nursing home cause he couldnt be at home alone anymore and that hed have someone call me when he got settled. then, over a year later, my hubby searched for him at work (he has to find ppl for his job so he can find ppl on the puter with the system they use). when he looked him up it said he was deceased, and he died very shortly after i lost saw him. so, i think he was really going into the hospital to hospice (ppl in hospice usually are there cause they only have a short time to live). i still mourn the loss of this friend, especially since i did not have any warning of his death, and therefore no closure...didnt even get to go to a funeral or anything, ya know? its hard...i still get upset when i drive by where he used to live.

My condolences to you.
A guy whom a bunch of us hung out with as a friend, drowned at 15. He had heart problems but none of us knew. He didn't want us to know.
We found out from his parents and other older family members after his death.
One of my close friends had a serious crush on him and she was devastated for a long time.
I still recall the event, though it was long ago.
It is shocking at any age to lose a friend, doesn't matter whether it is in youth, young adulthood or older. Loss is loss.

I lost my best friend, Jessie, in a car accident when we were 12...the car she was in was hit by a drunk driver & she was thrown from the car.
I lost my friend Ashley when we was 15, she hung herself in her basement, she lost all brain function, she ended up going to a nursing home and passed away shortly after that.
I lost my friend Scott when I was 19, he was so ashamed of failing a gun test when he was in the army, he felt he let his career military father down. When he finally passed and got his gun back he walked out of the building and shot himself in the head.
