Evidently alot of Republicans at the debate last night were clapping for this idea...

But I think the candidates who shook their head no were not exactly booed off the stage either...

Is this philosophy one that is on the extreme end of right-wing politics?

As you should know, I am totally a liberal/progressive who does not embrace either of the main parties. I don't think the idea of scraping the IRS is a conservative idea at all. I think it should be scraped as well, and I believe it is actually a very progressive idea. Do you think that Aaron Russo was a neo-con? He was not. The Federal Reserve was established by the Robber Baron bankers with the NWO agenda, and it benefits only them, and no one else. The income tax was established strictly for the purpose of paying the interest for the money that is minted by the Federal Reserve and loaned to our government (with interest). And the constitution only authorized congress to mint currency, and did not authorize congress to delegate that job to any private bank.

If you have never watched Aaron Russo's documentary called America: Freedom to Fascism, I really recommend it. The Federal Reserve, and the sixteenth amendment, and the IRS, and the income tax, are all part of one of the worst frauds ever perpetrated against the American people, and also the beginning of the strong foothold that the people trying to bring about the NWO nightmare, now have. This is an issue that you might be wise to research further. *sm*

If they do win they will find that any promise such as that is hard to fullfill. I agree that scrapping the IRS is a good idea and the Fair-Tax is better but getting there from here is another matter. And if did happen, my firm belief is that it would be ruled unconstitutional by SCOTUS because beyond a doubt it is a direct tax. As now written - the purchaser is responsible for the tax as opposed to the seller in all state sales taxes. Of course the Income Tax is also mis-applied as there is Tax levied on receipt of compensation for labor in violation of SCOTUS rulings. The above is not income as defined in the code.

The above is assuming that the bill would not be amended to death in congressional hearings

It is not the IRS that is the problem, it's the whole damned tax system.

We could make it very simple, but politicians chose to put in reams of exemptions and forms.

I think, for the average wage earner, they should never have to sign a tax form or report to our government. If a person choses to make money other then normal wages, that is a choice and therefore must report. Tax reporting for wage earners should be at the business level and never be a burden on the people.

I also do not believe in a flat tax, that would burden the middle class more. Nor do I believe in a national sales tax because it would do exactly that same.

I believe in a progressive tax, the more you make, the higher your tax. The reason is, they are benefiting from a system that allows that, more then the people who make less. In affect, we are giving the rich welfare off the backs of the middle class in the form of all kinds of loopholes to pay less. Then factor in, while the rich maybe paying a higher percentage now, they have far more disposable income then the middle class.

Also, those that believe the rich should pay less because they invest in America, they are the ones who are outsourcing American and shipping manufacturing overseas.

If the middle class was given more disposable income through tax relief, the rich would have to invest more in America.

Peace

In truth we could scrap most of the IRS. If we switched to the Fair Tax which is a Federal sales tax we could bring in the same revenue and cut out a lot of the bureaucracy that costs so much. Just think about it NO AUDITS ever again. NO PROPERTY seizures. NO JAIL TIME for tax evasion.

It is not extreme anything it is common sense.

Notice how scrap and crap have the same base. To any intelligent thinker this rhetoric just 'election pandering', because we want to know hear about solvent alternative. Problems are not the IRS, but the way our tax dollars are misused!

Most rich people find the concept of the income tax to be oppressive. Without a federal income tax, or some other source of federal revenue, all remaining taxes would fall heaviest on the middle class and the working class. If states had to replace federal revenue sources with state resources, most state economies would grind to a halt with a few months without an extreme revision of their own tax structure. Perhaps this would be a good idea, and maybe not...

They were discussing the Fair Tax and it has merit. The IRS needs scrapping by the way. I don't know if the Fair Tax is the final answer, but its a good solution that should be looked into more.

We had a perfectly good economy beofre the IRS. Ron Paul is an economist. His economic papers have been published and he models this after the Austrian economy which is proven successful (as was ours before the IRS).
The first time i heard him say that I thought he was kidding, but as I looked into it and researched it, I realized that it's not as left field as you might think.
