is an appropriate age to start dating??? my friend's having a fight with her mom over this, and i thought i'd put it out there. so what do you think? better yet, when did you start dating?

Well, whenever someone wants to. There shouldnt be an age limit for love. I started dating at like, 12 or 13.

It depends on how mature a person is, and what sort of relationship you are after, ie, mature 14 year olds dating, but not getting intimate would be fine, and the same for say, immature 16 year olds!
Also, children should never date anyone much older than them, as it is too dangerous and perverse!
I knew a 15 year old who dated a 36 year old. He was her first 'boy'friend, and he was only after one thing, but gave her something else, gonorrhoea!

well i don't think there is really a point on going on a date until you can drive. It would be a little embarrassing to go on a date and have to have your parents pick you up.lame! yeah you can have boyfriends younger than 16 but i don't think you shuld be aloud to go on a one on one date before 16. i wasn't aloud to start dating until i was 16. it was a perfect age.

i was about 12 when i had my first boyfriend, 15 when i went on my first date. that was fine for me bc i was mature for my age and didn't get into trouble. but things seem different now, girls getting preg so young. my daughter won't be dating until she's30
