Any diesel car, although in the U.S. only VW and Mercedes have had diesels available in recent years. But driving a diesel car is generally a sign of both intelligence and social consciousness. A proper turbo diesel will include all the luxury car features, outrun virtually anything else on the road and get 40 to 50 mpg doing it!
Note to R. Gary . . . a LINCOLN TOWN CAR???!!! Lincoln Town Car happens to be tied with Mercury Grand Marquis as the "slowest car on the road." People who own them have not driven over 40 mph in at least the last 10 years!

"I made it" is a very open field. What was your goal? Lawyer, doctor, cook, grocery bagger? It could be a bicycle or a Ferrari or just a plain Yugo. Get my drift? Your question and goal should be "What car feels good and right for me?". It's not important if your friends like it or not. Besides friends are playing "wish" with your money not theirs. What are THEY driving? Personally I think a Ferrari or a Lamborghini not a BMW! See what I mean? It's your money I'm think with not mine. I drive a Chevrolet Capri and keep it nice and clean and i get many looks and good comments from people. My neighbor drives a Cadillac, never washes it and it looks like trash and all people yell at him is "when are you going to crash into a car wash!?".

Credit? No way.
The first one paid for in full in cash.

And the only problem I had with the '74 Pinto was the smell.
That plastic smell lasted until we got rid of it. Always made me want to puke. Aside from that, it wasn't a bad car.
