no, the answer to make very clear that this behaviour will not be tolerated,a better way to emphasise that, is to immediately withdraw all aid to Sudan not only financial, but all technology supplied by the UK.
All Sudanese domiciled now in the UK should, be made to report to the local police station frequently and, produce identification documents.
No further Sudanese will be allowed into this country.
All tourist to be advised from the foreign office that Sudan is off limits, from today
. if, This response is legal it will not put our, soldiers at more risk.

A war on a third front? Yes thats a good idea. What would we do? Bomb the rubble that is Sudan into smaller bits of rubble? She will be out in 15 days or less, and home before christmas. While I dont agree with her treatment, Declaring war on a third world country like Sudan would be a bit of a no-contest

Maybe this would be a good excuse to attack Sudan and rescue the people of Darfur.
This is Sudan's real crime: genocide.
But it's "none of our business."
The trumped up charges against a British schoolteacher, though, that's our business and maybe we can help the oppressed now.
BTW Gillian Gibbons sounds like a wonderful person and a woman after my own heart; I'm not making light of her plight, it's just that this is minor compared with Sudan's other crimes.

Don't be stupid. If countries declared war on each other for unjustly imprisoning each other's citizens, we would be at war with just about every country in the world. For a start, if you are going to declare war on Sudan for holding one British person on a very stupid charge, you should first declare war on the US for holding several British citizens in places like Gitmo without any charges at all (before you flame me, I am not saying that the UK should declare war on the US, I am just using it an an example of what would happen if we applied the logic used in this question to all such disputes).

No this is not the answer. War is not the answer to everything, its people like you and your attitudes that have this world in such a sorry state, men and their egos.

This woman is in this position due to her own naivety she should have abided by their customs and cultures, war is not the answer, never mind the fact that the UK could not financially handle another war, anyway the UK has itself in enough conflicts around the world. When will people learn war is NOT the answer

Do not go to these countries, do not give aid to these countries, in fact have nothing to do with these countries. There are many countries that Britain gives aid to that don't need it. They just need proper management of the money flooding in through inflated natural resource prices. The British view of much of the world is now out of date. Nigeria, for instance has money flooding in but lots of their people live in poverty. The problem is their corrupt government. So what does Britain do? Why it gives the money you pay in tax as aid to that self same government. Actually, its not tax payers money, its money the British government had to borrow, since Britain is run on deficit financing. Yup, this government borrows billions every year. Anybody remember the 1970's when the Labour government had to go cap in hand to the IMF for lending of last resort ? Boy those were great times. Enjoy.

The Islamist extremists who have generated this whole situation out of nothing would like nothing better than to drive a wedge between the West and the majority of Muslims who are decent, fair, peaceable people.

Don't give the extremists the war they want.
