You have no idea what your doing do you?! If you cut a whole that big in your roof, you will be cutting through the truss, thus weakening your roof and having it come down on top of you. You can make the cut if you want to, but when something happens, your insurance will not pay for a thing.

From the way you asked, I would say to have someone do this for you and pay for it. I don't trust you for this job.

All you have to go is mark the hole above with a chalk line and tear up the shinles and paper, then use a sawzall form the upper, outside, end, simple.

Use a skill saw, snap some lines on the roof and get to cutting. Cut it from the outside (use old skill saw blade).

Wow, i would just use a sawzall. That is the stupidest question i've ever heard. Do they IQ test people in this question thing? Maybe pour some battery acid in a 4x4 square where you want the hole? lol

primer cord will probably give you a nice hole in the roof....and the second story floor ...and the first story floor...and maybe even leave a nice burn in the cellar floor...

circular saw & cut from outside.... you can pull off the shingles, or cut right right through them, you'll just wipe out the blade,,, set blade depth as not to cut rafter too much
