Forrest Clare "Phog" Allen (as in Allen Fieldhouse) was the Kansas basketball coach. Known as the "father of basketball coaching", Allen was himself coached by the inventor of the game at Kansas. He also coached a number of notable players, including Dean Smith and Adolph Rupp.
"Rock chalk" refers to the limestone "chalk rock" that was used to build the campus buildings. The phrase is used in the school chant. More on the history below.
