Hello. the chariot was a way for a horseman to use a bow or a spear in warfare. It was sometimes driven by a sheild bearer, so there would be 2 soldiers in the chariot. Takes lots of practice to shoot a bow from horseback, this is a way it could be done, since the platform of chariot is less 'bumpy' to ride than horse's back. Also, the chariot was a very mobile, and pretty intimidating if you were the guy on foot being chased by one....
