I am writing a persuasive letter to the Prime minister of Canada trying to convince him to send money to third-world countries to help their economy...i have all my reasons set up...but i cant think of a good intro/empathy paragraph...and by empathy paragraph..i mean a paragraph at the beginning where i try to show understanding for the PM's difficult position...and in some sincere way say " i understand your problems...but do this for the ones in poverty..."sorta thing

How about "I am writing in reference to aid for third-world countries. This concerns me for the following reasons:"

Remember that the PM will never see your letter. Someone will make a note of your concerns and send you a formula letter in return.
