Is this coincidental or some type of paranormal activity? A few weeks ago, my cat suddenly fell ill. He is an indoor cat. He went missing one night, and I went out to the backyard to look for him. Our pool has been in disrepair for some time and there is no electricity out there. As I was standing in the yard calling his name, the pool light under water pulsated on and off 2 times. The cat was not out there, I found him later in the house. He died the next day. Is that weird or what?? I am a totally normal person..this was very spooky to me!

Thanks for all the responses...maybe I should have added this information to original post:
About 6 months before this cat died, our other cat died by the side of the pool. Natural causes, nothing weird. Also, we have electricity out there, but the bulb to the pool light has been out approximatley 5 years. My feeling was that it had something to do with the spirit of the other cat "coming to get" him. Am I still crazy??

no not at all. Have the pool light checked by an electrician. You probably have an intermittent short in it and you just happened to be standing there when it did this. Just because your not outside to see it happen, does not mean it isnt going on and off. Not to mention the safety issues of having a short in a pool area. Working or not. And as for your cat , sorry, but animals often try to go off by themselves to die. Your cat was probably trying to find a quiet dark place to meet his end. Its just the way animals do things.
Jacob if your saying your an investigator and this is demonic activity without being anywhere near the scene, you need to find a different way to get your ya ya's out. demonic activity my b*tt.

Well, this is definiantly an odd coincidence. Before and while he was ill, did he act any differently?, like something was there that you couldn't see? If yes, then I don't believe it was a coincidence. If no, its hard to say. If there really was no electricity out at the pool, its really strange that the light flashed. I would just keep an eye out for any other strange occurances. But, don't get scared or overly cautious, because you could then begin thinking you are hearing or seeing things. If you notice something else, check out all possible reasons for what it could be, this is called debunking. I'm sorry to hear about your cat, but I think everything will be fine. Best wishes to you.

I'm sorry to hear about your cat, but I don't understand what a blinking light in a pool could possibly have to do with the death of the little guy. Are you thinking that blinking lights kill cats? Are you saying that perhaps all pool lights blink the day before their owners' pets die?

Oh, and if the light blinks then you do have electricity. This is not a good thing to be happening under water.

Before your cat fell ill did it act funny as if something was hanging around the house that you couldn't see. Were the eyes dolled out, but not as in a seizure. If so than perhaps there was some sort of paranormal happenings, other than that I just say coincidence.

So sorry about your cat. I think that Nuff was right...your cat was trying to find a place to die.You didn't say how long he was gone. I doubt that it was paranormal...I'd check to make sure about the elec. and those lights. I'd be more likely to think it was a 'sign' from your cat if it happened AFTER he died.. (You'd think that guy with the cat avatar would be a little more empathetic about cats. I think he should change his avatar.) I do understand why you were spooked about those lights if there was no elec. going to them. I'd call an electrician and ask him about it. There might be a reason it happened.

I've only saw one cat in the final stages, he came out of hiding during a thanksgiving dinner to say goodbye to his owner and layed down in front of all of us. The owner rushed him to the pet emergency hospital eventually had to put him down because the cat had suffered a heart attack. The cat was overweight.(true story)

My wife had a elderly cat who laid herself out in the bathroom sink before she died.

Although cats seem to be the most sensitive to paranormal activity, we tend to forget their short life span.

There had been several pet food recalls in the past year and many pets died.

If an indoor cat gets out chances are he will get himself into trouble, he has no way of defending himself and won't have the instinct to survive. My sister in law's indoor cat came back home with a huge gash on his hind quarters from a fight with an outdoor cat, caught an infection and almost died.

Pool lights were a coincidence.

Interesting how you can connect to totally unrelated events and join them together and say that its paranormal activity. Now that's scientific. Don't find excuses for your cats death. Everything will eventually die. That's a scientific fact not like blinking lights and dead cats.
