I want to get a french manicure, but have never had one before. Every time I ever see one on someone, it is always with fake nails. Can I ask them to give me a french manicure without using acrylic? I have fairly long nails (sport length)-
Is this a normal request?

Also, what is the difference between a french and regular manicure? I want the white stripe at the tip (and I want them to be square shape)

sure you can get whatever you want..just tell them exactly how you want it done. they can be square or rounded off on the sides..a maicure is just when they cut off the cuticles and they do a little buffing on your nails to make them clean and healthy..if you want the white on the tip of the nail thats a french manicure..you can also get them in different colors..mine (are acrylic) they have a pink tip with a little white line under it..and they came out pretty cute..but im sure they can do it for you without acrylic. :]]

You can get a french manicure with just your real nails but because real nails are so thin, it may not last long. Since acrylic nails are a bit thicker than our real nails, the color won't chip.
The difference between a french manicure and an american manicure: a french manicure has the white tip, the american manicure is a more natural look, the tip is very natural looking. You can google pictures of them both.

absolutely. i do it all the time. I have very nice natural nails, and I don't like to cover them up with fancy nail polish. so I always get french manicure. A french manicure is a type of nail polish. The white tip of your nail is covered with a white nail polish. then the whole thing is painted over with a pale pink or buff color. It is like natural nails kicked up a notch.

a regular manicure is just one color of your choice over the whole nail...like if you want just red.

Usually it is more expensive for a french manicure, since it takes a bit more time and skill by the nail tech.

you can do it on natural or fake nails. It is a completely normal request to make. And i think it looks way better on nice natural nails than on fake.

Yes, you can get it without getting acrylics. That is what I usually have done.

French manicures cost slightly more than regular manicures but are well worth it. :)
