Personally I don't believe in divorce I think for 97% of the time people give up too soon and are doing it for selfish reasons. Don't get me wrong there are definatly reasons to get divorce just a majoroity of them aren't reasonable to me.

I am a child from a divorced family and it sucked.
Parents get so wrapped up in their own lives they forget that their six year old still needs her parents.
Too much anger. Life is not easier just because you give up on your marriage.
In fact it can be a lot more difficult and people just don't realize it until its too late.

All family members are affected in some way.The children of divorce probably have it the hardest.
Its stupid when it happens because someone just isn't happy anymore.
Its necessary when abused is involved. Be it physical or drug/alcohol related. Sometimes two people grow to really dislike one another. Thats reason to not be together.

One comment here. I''m 48 and single. Divorce for 3yrs now. I've met sooooooooooo many women that are divorced for 1,2,3,4,5 years. I do see a pattern at least with the women I've met. In most cases they were better off being married. Whether for financial reasons, emotional reason's, their kids.

Don't burn me at the stake ladies, I'm sure you've probably seen the same in the men you've met.

I'm old fashioned and God-driven. I believe that divorce is wrong unless there is adultury. That one is in the Bible for divorce. It affects EVERYONE around those people. Children suffer the worst. I have a friend whose parents got divorced and later on, her mother died. She has said repeatedly that the divorce hurt a lot more and has had a more negative impact than the death. Most people get divorces now, though. Instead of working hard for a deep love that has withstood trials and challenges (for love is a CHOICE and ACTION, not a merely a feeling) many people go for instant gratification: divorce the one partner and in with a new one!

But, like I said, I'm old fashioned.

I feel like the only way that you should get a divorce is when you two have different views on everything from politics to religion or when you have a repeat cheater. other wise you probably can work it out. I think it is stupid if you get divorced because of money or because you are arguing over little things. Its probably the only way a person can get any attention from one another or just the passion that is going on. problems usually start with not enough affection.

Divorce is something that is resorted to when the centre can no longer hold. It is sometimes necessary because two people who dont love each other should never be in a marriage. They end up living the exact opposite of what marriage should be. Such a couple never knows what real friendship and happiness is.

In the bible wise you are not suppose to get a divorce. Whatever is going on in your relationship you are suppose to make it work no matter what unless you cannot take it anymore. The only time you are to get a divorce is when you are your mate is cheating and you have evidence. But if things are just not working try to get help first before you let the situation go.

Divorce is necessary when the cheating spouse insists on dishonoring the marriage. Sex is lethal these days. Single life and abstinence affords protection to some degree.

Divorce is stupid when it is over trivial matters such as gaining weight, finances, housekeeping, or lack thereof.

It is up to the offended spouse how much disrespect they are willing to endure.

Instead of voluntarily slicing away a piece of someone, it can viciously tear into someone's heart... there's the feeling of abandonment, fear and anger.

Its necessary only when the relationship turns so toxic it affects the health of one or both spouse. Otherwise, disagreements should be worked out.

It should never be brought up in the heat of a disagreement.
Then it just used as a weapon to hurt the other.

I think its stupid when its over something stupid, Some people say they just can't work it out, why did you get married in the first place? But if there is cheating i'm sorry but that is divorce right there. I can't trust someone if they screwed around on me.
