I prefer that you not just say "none of them".

I really want to know if there is a candidate that you think is both "most winnable" and "truly frightening"?

A couple of the candidates are doing well by "uniting the hatred" that some Republicans have toward certain groups.

A couple of others are doing well by "flip-flopping" in order to seem moderate.

And a couple of them really are moderates but have just one or two REALLY bad ideas.

What do you, as a democrat, make of this mess?

Ron Paul is in many ways a clueless old fuddy-duddy, but may actually be well-meaning, and has some good ideas. But then, many thought Bush was too dumb to do much damage . . .

I don't know what impact his plan to revive the gold standard would have in a global economy, but that doesn't matter. What matters is that I don't think he knows . . .

So that leaves Mitt Romney and Rudy the Randy Guiliani.

If either are elected, I'm outta here.

They're ALL scary! Republicans only represent more of the same, which with Bush/Chaney has been a disaster for the average American, the Nations of the world (except the Saudi Arabia) and the planet.

I believe Mike Hukabee is the "most winnable", but the Republicans will not give him the nomination.

"Truly frightening" is Mitt Romney--he is flip and I don't mean "flip flop".

Rudy Giuliani, is the candidate most likely to beat Hillary, the problem is Hillary Clinton is in it to win.

Electability requires popularity and charisma, none of them really has it (I was looking for just that in their faces on the debate the other night). None of them are really popularly electable unless we screw up big time (and I am afraid neither Hillary nor Obama can win 51% of the national vote - the Reps. know it that' why they are saying and doing little things to help ensure one of the two gets the nomination).

The Republican who really scares me is Giuliani (I'm from New York origially, I'm well familiar with him). I don't think he can get elected as things stand right now but Jesus!, if he does we're in trouble. He has no ethical standards, a bad temper and is prone to grandstanding and out and out lying to get his way. In my book , he's just as crooked as Bush, but a lot smarter.

Without a doubt, Rudy Guiliani

All of them. But Hillary and Obama are the worst.
However, the Republicans are equally bad with the lone exception of John McCain. But McCain is simply too old.
In most businesses employees are forced to retire at 65. FAA forces retirement at 45 or used to. So, why should the leader of our country be over 65?

Like every election I will vote other than Republican or Democrat. I vote either Independent or Libertarian. Many people say I am simply throwing my vote away. But if I voted Republican or Democrat I would view my choice as deciding between Hitler and Stalin. Maybe someday enough others will see the same and quit voting for "the lesser of two evils."

They all do. All that spews out of their mouthe's is "privatization" and "free" markets, (which translates US paying more)How 'bout throwin a lil' bone to the taxpayers for a change. If repubs can spend TRILLIONS of OUR tax dollars for their war...then at least take care of our children and vets.

If by scare you mean the one I consider the the most electable, I'd say McCain except for his insistence on continuinig this awful war. My primary reason is Campagn funding reform. Until we stop letting special interests pay our politicians we will contiue to go unrepresented.

I think Huckabee has the best chance to win in a general election... he can bring the south vote out... which I think they will need...

frightening? I don't think any are as scary as Bush... Thompson seems to be kind of clueless, and that can be dangerous... and Ron Paul, Tancredo and Hunter seem a little crazy... but, they don't seem to have a chance...

I'm not a Democrat, but I'm going to answer anyway.

Huckabee is the one that scares me the most. I can't imagine life under his administration, and I hope I never have to find out.
