I always wonder why I'm me, in this body...I actually get depressed because i can't seem to accept myself, i always feel like i should be someone else to be accepted or liked. I don't know how to be me, naturally. It's not like i can escape myself, but i still can't come terms with my own existence ever since i started to ponder this phenomenal question. I know there is no definite answer. Some say 'fate', others say 'God made you that way' but it doesn't do one bit of good explaining my unique consciousness that I alone experience.
I feel like I'm the only one who wonders this, like I'm the only one with consciousness. But others 'have' to be conscious too, right? I just don't understand how i came to 'be' and why in THIS body, why am i a woman? I always felts my life would have been easier had i been born a man. I feel so compelled to explain why I'm me, but it would probably take a lifetime. What are some of your thoughts on how you came to 'be'?

I think because you have the ability to think outside of the box like this, you are pretty special. A lot of people do not care HOW they came to be, they just know that they are who they are.
The topic that you bring up really is a derivative of the perpetual "Meaning of Life" question. What truly is the meaning of life? Why are we who we are? It truly is rhetorical because the only one who has an answer is YOU, except that your answer cannot and will not EVER be validated by anyone else. As you grow older, you'll experience things and ideas that will turn you into who you are, but you cannot just decide who you are in a split second. In my humble opinion, you have to realize who you are through experience. Many will turn to others experiences and/or schools of thought to help them learn, but, in the end, it really comes down to what you have experienced and lived through that will define you.

Good luck. I think the fact that you asked this question proves that you are an intelligent human being.

Sounds to me like you might want to explore some religions.
We ALL experience things differently than everyone else, a fact that used to bug me as a kid, because I always wanted to know how other people were experiencing life. But nobody hears the same tones, or sees that same colors and contasts. No one thinks the same things.
As far as accepting yourself and knowing why you're here, I can offer some suggestions.
Talk to a councilor about yourself.
Check out some religious websites and get more information on those that interest you. Here are some interesting ones that explain, in their words, where we came from.

Theory : Flies are on a different time frame then we are , Which explains the reason that they are so hard to hit with your hand , it takes a day for your hand to reach the spot where they are setting , so they have time to evacuate . now if you've got a flyswatter you can cut threw the air so much faster that you actually bend time so that theres only hours to evacuate and they are greedely trying to suck around for every last microbe they can suck and,,, then ,,,WHAM !
