I am also 36 weeks pregnant and personally as tempting as it would seem I would probably not go just for the simple fact that the closest hospital is 2 hours away and if something were to happen, you would not want to be that far away from a hospital. You should consult your doctor. Chances are you could go into labor anytime so why would you want to take that risk. Then again, ultimately its your decision.

The chances of going into labor don't matter--it COULD happen and that's what you need to keep in mind. Will you be 36 weeks when you're gone? Or is that in a week or two? If it's your first baby, and you start having contractions, head back immediately. Don't wait for them to become regular and four minutes apart. That way you'll get here in time and if it was a false alarm at least you didn't deliver a baby in the car :) I think you'll be fine.
And to the idiot above who thinks you are only three months pregnant--
SHE IS FULL TERM. She's 36 weeks and due dates are calculated 40 weeks. Women are considered full term at 36-37 weeks.

If the nearest hospital is 2 hours away I personally wouldn't want to risk it. At this point you could go into labor at any time. However if this is your first (since first babies are typically late) and you havn't starting dialiating yet then you might be okay. I would go to your Dr. and tell him/her where you are going and ask them to do an exam to see what they think. Personally I wouldn't have go anywhere that far away when I was 36 weeks along.

Take your holiday. 36 weeks is only 3 months. The chances of your going into labor are very slim indeed.

I would ask the doctor for their opinion but I think you would be alright to go...now if you had to fly I would have to say different but since you don't have to fly then you will be okay...they say to stop every hour when traveling and pregnant though to walk around then you won't get blood clogs in your legs.

I know my doctor told me not to travel in my ninth month, what does yours say? Is this your first baby? If it is, I wouldn't chance it. Can you take the holiday after baby comes? Maybe in the spring when baby could stay with grandparents or friends. Maybe you could save it for your anniversary weekend.

It depends if you are flying as the airline won't let you fly at 36 weeks. Otherwise just go and have a good time.
