Insurers are in business to make money. They will sell insurance to *anyone* for *anything*.

If the evidence starts to show that there is a significantly higher cost in medical premiums to insure night shift workers than day shift workers, then yes, we might see some companies applying a surcharge.

A recent study showed that night shift workers are at a higher risk for cancer...to those of you who asked.

I would think that because the elevated risk is imposed by the employer that any extra expense would be incurred by them. However, I think it would we absurd to institute such a price hike.

I would think that dayshift workers would be at higher risk for cancer, unless you are saying it's because they are indoors all night and outside during the day?

Not in a long shot. What they will do is just charge them a higher premium, and then refuse when pay out time comes. Don't you understand? Insurance companies are in the business of taking money in; not paying money out.....Hello?
