Kathy Griffin's Hate Speech About Jesus
At the Emmy awards, Kathy Griffin's acceptance speech said, "A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus." She went on to say,"Suck it, Jesus. This is my God now!" referring to the Emmy.

As a Christian, I am offended by her hate speech. What do you think might have happened if she had made the hate speech against Muhammad???? Kathy Griffin has the right as an American to say what she thinks. As a Christian-American, so do I.
Today I will refuse to watch any show that she may be on or purchase tickets to any event at which she would perform.

Regardless of the fact that I am a Catholic, I think that Kathy is hilarious. Its refreshing to know she speaks her mind. Lets face it, the only reason she makes the comments she does is to get attention, and it works every time! I don't think that her Emmy speech was intended to offend Christians, but to poke fun of all those celebrities who thank God for helping them win awards. In the words of Kathy, " Doesn't God have more to worry about with Darfur rather than helping celebs win awards?"

She is a trip and people need to stop taking the things she says so seriously. It's all for comedic effect.

Your friend said etc. etc. etc..........That is a horrible comparison!! My spouse is not my Creator, and I would never tell my husband those words, and I certainly would not mock / curse the Higher power. You know, atheists are always ranting that Christians are hateful, narrow-minded, and disrespectful. Well isn't that the pot calling the kettle black! They take any and every opportunity to spit in God's face and rally their unprecedented hatred with no thought or respect to others. They want respect?? Then start learning how to give it. Christians standing up and counter-voicing an attack against our Lord is not wrong. We are called to be defenders of the faith, and turning the other cheek DOES NOT mean rolling over and playing dead like a great many Believer's have done.

Kathy Griffin is yet one more example of why no one should ever look up to "celebrities". All her comment has done is show the world what kind of human being she is. Many celebrities are shallow, ignorant attention whores and she's one of them.

It is interesting, though, that everyone isn't all over her for this rude comment. Had it been another religion, people would be screaming from the rooftops. What a double standard. She belongs on the D List.

She did it as a joke, someone wrote it for her. Her point was that people always thank Jesus and she thinks that Jesus has better things to do than help celebrities win awards and athletes score points.

Its nice that you are a Christian, but WHO CARES! I don't care how you pray or what you believe in. People should be allowed to believe/ say whatever they want.

It was not hateful, you just need to relax and try to get back the sense of humor the "Christian-Americans" stole from you. Good Luck.

I am also a Christian and found her speech to be offensive and tacky. However, I think she is funny and witty sometimes but she was totally wrong about the speech. She was on Larry King and her explanation was that she was making fun of all the rappers who "Thank God" in their speeches at awards shows, but I think she was being outrageous and trying to make headlines but it backfired! I like her show "The D List", but I wouldn't go see her either unless she apologizes for her comments.

What else is new with stupid Hollywood celebrities? That's why i have a total disdain for them. She's garbage just like the majority of the corrupted immoral celebrity jerks from Hollywood. None of them teach anything positive & spread nothing but immoral garbage.

I think she crossed the line. I'm not a Christian myself but I respect other people's religious beliefs. Her remarks were very offensive. It seems nowadays some celebs will do and say almost anything to get attention. Whatever happened to class and sensibility?
