Plug in -x for x. If you get the same function again, it's even. If you get the same function, only negated, then it's odd. If neither of these happens, it's neither even nor odd.

f(-x) = 5/2(-x)^2 = 5/2x^2 = f(x)

so it's even.

Calculate f(-x) = 5/2(-x)^2= 5/2x^2 =f(x) so the function is even
