Of course he is. The man has established leadership credentials for decades. He has been a success in business. Success in the Olympics. Success as governor. He has a strong reputation for cleaning up messes. He is articulate. Correct on the issues for the most part. Has strong moral values. Absolutely NO baggage.
I don't understand how he comes across as fake or slick. He is one of the few people on the stage who didnt have to go on the defense. He admitted when he was wrong. Seems to me that if he was fake or slick he wouldnt be where he is today. And if he wasnt such a clean and articulate candidate, these guys would be complaining that he was a dumb hick.
He is real guy. and he isnt afraid to go to work. If he was he wouldnt have been out helping people recover from fires in california WITHOUT the press core following him.
He is clearly the best choice out there. And not just because He can be Hillary.

I watched the Youtube Republican Debate last night and didn't find very helpful. A lot of sound bites but a bit short on substance, in my opinion. I like Romney but had a hard time comparing him to the rest.
A friend of mine has just referred me to this site called Select2008.com. You should check it out. It is very functional and easy to use.
You can select the candidates you have in mind for the 2008 Presidential elections (for instance Clinton, Giuliani, Obama, etc.). I believe you can compare 6 candidates at a time. You can also select the issues you are interested in, like healthcare, the war in Iraq, the environment, or second amendment rights. Select2008 will then ask you a few questions. Once you've done about thirty questions, you can review your results and compare how candidates address your concerns. It's really helped me narrow down the candidates I am gonna follow over the next few weeks of the presidential campaign.
Another cool feature is that you can invite a few friends and compare how you answer. It was a bit eye-opening but very fun!

Daniel, when you take your car to a garage, do you ask each of the workers what country they're from? And the stock he owned was in a blind trust. It's required for people who hold public office. Once he found out that his trustees had invested, he told them to get out of the stem cell business. Mitt Romney is a decent, family-oriented guy. I feel much more comfortable with the idea of him in office than I do with Rudy Giuliani or anyone else.

He isnt half-bad, but that is as far as im going. He seems to say one thing and do another. Examples? Stem cell research, he is against Embryonic stem cell research, which is fine, but he had stock in an ES cell research company, which of course he didnt know. He also didnt know about the illegals working for him as governor. His stances arent horrible, but he seems to know less and less when convenient, and im not buying it. I like Huckabee, who just passed Romney in Iowa polls. Romney is against abortion, but doesnt really want to fight it, Huckabee doesnt mind telling you that its wrong, and he's not a candy coater, which I like. But i it came down to Romney being our candidate for the big one, i would vote for him. I would prefer Huckabee though.

I think he's a phoney. He has flip-flopped on so many issues and presents to each constituency what it is they need to hear. I personally like Mike Huckabee and Duncan Hunter--they are the most consistent and most republican of the nominees.

I did like him until lastnights debate but he came accross to me as being fake... I'll have to have more time to judge him better though. Rudy was worse though.
