I work at Taco Bell. I was hired in the summer shortly after school ended. I planned on only staying for the summer, then quitting when school and football started. But for some reason, I did not quit and stayed. I still work there. Even though football is over, the job is cutting into my social and school sections of life. I don't work during the week (too much homework, I tried it out before), so I'm usually scheduled for my whole weekend. By the time I get off, it's too late to do anything. This cuts into hanging out with my friends, and doing other things outside of school. I can't tell you how many great football games I've missed because I had to work.

I got a job mainly to pay off my car insurance (they pay for gas because they use it a lot).

I already paid off a year's worth of insurance, so the rest is income just for me. So after I make a little more money, I kinda want to quit.

But my MAIN ISSUE is, can I be re-hired if I quit???

Just to let you know, I'd say about 3-5 people quit each month, and 2-4 new people get hired.

If I do quit, I would do it formally and give in my Two Weeks Notice, and not just walk off like all others do.

But even if I do that, is it possible for me to re-apply and get re-hired in the summer???

They are always hiring, mainly because a lot of people keep quitting

If you've been a good employee, they will very possibly rehire you.

I'd talk to the manager and tell them that you will be quitting soon because you just don't have time for all the things you have to get done, but would like to come back and work during the summer, and see what they say. And if you want any hope of being rehired, be sure to give notice, don't just walk off.

Most places will re-hire you if you give them notice and if you give them a good reason for leaving. I wouldn't tell them it is cutting in with your social life, just say it is cutting in with school. It probably won't be an issue to re-apply there.
