Tell them to leave you the hell alone.

Spread nasty rumors, but then they might so the same, so you might not want to. lol

Just ignore them.

I seriously think it's a bad idea to be mean to someone to get them to leave you alone. You should just tell them how you feel and move on. Try to ignore them if they get upset over it, and if you think things get out of hand don't be afraid to ask for help...sometimes people start to obsess if you reject them in a negative way. The best thing, if you really just want to be left alone and hold no ill will toward this person, is to try and cut them out of your life as soon as you can. Making them angry will just provoke a fight and prolong the conflict...which might be what you subconsciously desire. Look into your own anger and try to deal with it, and also try to understand where the other person is coming from and why they are acting the way they are and I'm sure your guilt will fade and it will be easier to let go.

Don't anger them. Angry people tend to stay around longer. They have a vested interest in you and your life, be it because they're hurt and want you to realize how you've hurt them or because they feel hatred toward you. Anger is one of the best ways to keep someone around.

Be honest, but try not to be brutally honest (i.e, "I hate you, you idiot, go away.") I do believe the best way is to ignore their phone calls, letters, e-mails, whatever and try not to engage them in any sort of verbal argument. If you keep telling someone they're irritable, half the time they stick around just to try and convince you they're not. Just disengage. They'll get the point. If they're sending you e-mails delete them so you don't get involved in or upset by what you're reading.

I am not the 'brutally honest' type because I find it, other than kind of barbaric, absolutely useless. No reason to make someone feel badly about themselves if you can help it. Hurt feelings will only ensure that they'll be coming back again for more. Sorry I don't know your situation, Linz, whether it's here or at home, but be nice, disengage and think about me in the ceiling hammock.

If you know a person well, then you know what buttons to push. Especially if you're a woman and the subject of your antagonism is a man.
The trick is to push just the right buttons to achieve the solitude you want without pushing the ones that make all hell break loose.
Each person is too unique in this regard for an outsider to hazard a guess.

Talk to them, openly and honestly, about how you feel, instead of angering them. Much better!! :)
