because he brought in all the illegal immigrants......

Those who immigrate to this country quasi legally or illegally are told by others of their background that there are certain cities or areas of the county where the government does not round them up and send them back to their country from which they came. There are things government provide to us. Some are very tangible and are needed up front. For example free government paid medical care or attendance at school for children. Well what Romney was saying was the the mayor of New York, his opponent allowed for illegals to get governemnt services and did not track them for arrest or deportation. That is creating a sanctuary for illegals. Makes sense. Of course, the retort was that as governor Romney all did not pursue illegals very harshly either. Clearly immigration is an issue among GOP, possibly everyone. So any softness on this issue in the past is now used as a hammer against anyone who was such. Of course, in reality immigration has not been an issue. Everyone has tolerated that there were illegals and they have kept coming. So now what do we do about it. Realistially we need to stop it but deal with those that are here by making it easy to become citizens and ending the rehtoric.

Giuliani had cuddled illegals in New York City to get a lot of votes from them and the alien communities.

VOTE for your choice as US President on my 360 degrees blog and know if Giuliani will likely win.

Many cities in the United States are sanctuary cities, including Washington, D.C., New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, San Diego, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Detroit, Jersey City, Minneapolis, Miami, Denver, Baltimore, Seattle, Portland, Oregon and Portland, Maine. These cities have adopted "sanctuary" ordinances banning city employees and police officers from asking people about their immigration status.Proponents of such policies argue that they promote efforts of police and public health departments to cooperate with immigrant communities in order to reduce crime and improve public health in those communities.
Critics have argued that a large proportion of violent crimes in some sanctuary cities result from this policy. 95% of outstanding homicide warrants in Los Angeles are for illegal immigrants (as half of the outstanding arrest warrants in Los Angeles are for Mexican nationals who have fled the country, and hence cannot be arrested here).

Romney, Thompson, and Joe Bidden think the Federal gov should not grant funds to these cities. Hilary Clinton, Barack Obama, Dodd, Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel, Bill Richardson, Rudolph Giulani, think the Federam Gov should continue granting funds to these cities.

I am of the opinion that it means the same thing that that term means in common parlance: A city that will not allow, or attempts to hamper normal enforcement of immigration laws as regards illegal aliens. Thus he was referring to Rudy winking and nodding at New York engaging in a collective federal felony--assisting illegal aliens. Of course I could be way out in left field.

Giuliani made New York City a sanctuary city for illegal aliens. You weren't allowed to ask if they were legal or not in any situation be it employment, medical treatment, law enforcement, etc. In other words he was a Mayor that was totally accepting of illegal aliens and made it easy for them to reside comfortably in New York City.

I believe he was referring to a 'Sanctuary City" for illegal aliens.

Such cities make public their policies which offer preferential treatment to illegals and avoid making trouble for them.

For illegal Mexicans. Some cities want them there, and are giving them free services, healthcare etc.
