4 quarts to a gal
so 8 quarts is 2 gal
1/4 qt * (1 gal/4 qt) = 1/16 gal = 0.0625 gal
so 2.0625 gal or 2 1/16 gal = 8 1/4 qts

hmmmmmmm
4 quarts = gallon

4 divided into 8.25 (the equivalent of 8 1/4)

2 gallons and a cup left over
