Publix! I refuse to shop at Walmart. First, I'd rather not get lead poisoning from Walmart's products. Not to mention that they pay their employees nothing and are terrible for the average "small town" store. Food is disgusting. I have to admit that I did buy crab from Walmart one (i'm so ashamed, but it was like 2$ a pound...). It was sick for a week. Customer service is crappy because the people don't get paid well so they act like they don't. Plus no benefits for employees. With cleanliness, once again, the employees don't care...

Walmart all the way. I would rather get everything from Walmart that I can, and the things that I can't go to Publix. For example Walmart has like one type of Hummus Publix has like 6. I get my Hummus at Publix. I also get all other specialty items there as well. I am currently wintering in Michigan and we don't have Publix here, but when in Florida I love Publix for specialty food.

We used to shop at Publix when I lived in Florida. I liked the carry your bags to the car thing and I find myself doing self checkout at Super Walmart with my groceries so I don't end up with the VEGGIE DIP in with the PLAYDOH! Bigger bargain would be Walmart but Publix has better meat, produce and even their bakery and deli. I wish I had a a Publix up here in IL! I MISS THEM!!

i live in MN, so we dont have Publix, but i would still rather shop there than wal mart, i hate wal mart. they treat their employees terribly, and have brought about the ruin of the small business owner. plus they are one of the biggest contributors to the republican party, and are dead set against unions. they even went so far as to close a store in canada rather than employ the employees of the store who voted to go union. They also have one of the worst insurance plans for full time non managerial employees. it is very expensive, and covers nearly nothing. Not only that but they also try to keep their employees working just under the threshold of hours that they would need to qualify for this plan.

Walmart is fine, and the food is usually less expensive. But I prefer Publix for grocery shopping. Shelves are generally well-stocked; the stores are often clean and well-lit; the service is very courteous; the ambience is pleasant. Occasionally there are good sales at Publix, but it is generally not a place for bargains.

I've never heard of a Publix, I'm not really sure what it's like? As for Walmart, we all know that this is a monopoly. I don't want to like to shop there, but I do anyways because EVERYTHING is there. Preferably and the best (ish) for the economy, Target or anything under WalMart. You know how it is... =)

Spent 32 yrs. in the business from a supplier side. Prices at WMart are about 7% lower, but is it worth the hassel.? Bottom line, I love Publix but love my money even more. Many of the high volume products you buy at WMart are at actual cost and a few are below cost.
