Oh fun!!! They'll love it.
I really like the Big Brain Academy because it's not only fun, but it actually makes them think and will help them with math and other things.
All the Mario's are fun. You can buy Wii points, they are those credit card looking things by the Wii accessories, and download a ton of original Nintendo games, a lot of the Mario games, and it is pretty cheap to do it that way. I would recommend Mario Kart and Super Mario.
Wii Play is another favorite. It also comes with an extra remote which is handy especially if you have two kids. It has a lot of fun mini games.
Hope that helps!

wii sports that it comes with is a BLAST and so is the other combo wii sports games. Those 2 are prob. the best esp because they are short games and it would be perfect for a 5 year old because I am sure ((maybe I am wrong)) he wont have the patience to sit down and play games all day long. but u never know these days! :-) good luck!! and I KNOW they will like it! I do and I am in college

5? I think the sports package that comes with it will be good for the 5 yr old for a bit. We enjoy any of the mario series. My Sims for my 9 yr old. (girl) There's not a whole lot out there. My kids seem bored with the Wii. We were thinking of selling it. I'm looking for the DDR or something more interactive. You don't state whether they're boys or girls. Mama's cooking is fun for girls but my son likes starfox and mario.
Good luck and have a merry christmas!

Zelda Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy, that is a must right now. If you want a good multiplayer game so they can both play it would be Rayman Raving Rabbids, nice clean fun.

EDIT: Wii Sports does NOT count, it comes with the Wii.

There aren't many games that will work both for the 9 and 5. I would suggest that you join somebody like Blockbusters. You can rent WII games there and try them out before you buy them.pp
