I am considering of attending UIC but I don't know much about the experience at UIC. How are the teachers and the campus in your opinion? Do or did you enjoy your time at UIC? What did you like most about the school and what did you hate most about the university? How are the academics?

UIC is a school in transition. Historically, it has been a commuter school, and up to this year, I would have automatically agreed with that assessment. Currently, 25% of all students live on or near campus, and 50% of freshman live on or near campus.
UIC will not hold your hand. You are on your own. The academics are great here. UIC is a very tough grading school. On average, it grades harder than Urbana. An A at UIC in some ways means more than an A at UIUC because UIUC has grade inflation, and UIC does not allow it. It is against school policy.
UIC's is in a good location. However, it is expensive around here.
Most of the professors are friendly if you approach them. They will not approach you.
The physical campus is slowly being completely redone. They are trying to get rid of the concrete look.
