It's for my science project. I am writing a sci-fi story, but it needs to be based off of true facts, and a real exploration! I have already written the stroy so I don't want to rewrite it! HELP!

So, I need the name of a Mars exploration where they set off to try and find aliens. ASAP!

I don't need one where they find one. I need one where they set off to find one, they could have failed, (though they probably did)

It has to be a human-exploration, therefore, I need a mission with humans.

viking

you should read about it, as it is fascinating... misguided, perhaps, but fascinating.

"The Viking landers conducted biological experiments designed to detect life in the Martian soil if it existed..."

There have never been any hints of alien life on Mars, and therefore no missions to look for any. You'll just have to make something up. If you really need to use a real mission, pick one of the probes that was lost (Beagle 2, Polar Lander, etc.) and claim it was really on a secret mission to find aliens.

The first mission to Mars looking for possible life signs was the Viking Lander Missions in the mid '70s... Google that.

Every body knows about the Spirit and Oportunity rovers on Mars but no one knows about third Mars rover that landed in Cydonia.

more or less they have always been looking. Now it's more for microbes or the ideal conditions that life could have existed (like proof it once had moving water). Funny, a commercial is on about Mars right now!

*heavy sigh*

Where to begin?

Once you combine the words "Mars" and "alien" there is no "true factual" information.

By the way, any author will tell you that no story is complete without being rewritten several times.
