I used to live on a farm, chickens eat chicken feed, im not sure about cows we only had pigs,chickens,rabbits,dogs...etc.

hmmm...let's see...mares eat oats and does eat oats and little ants eat ivy (do they really?) - cows eat plants - all sorts and constantly - they eat about 30 - 40 kilos per day (and subsequently poop about 90% of that out)
Chickens will eat almost anything but are most partial to grain which is why they have a gullet containing stones they have swallowed break break down the grain "shell" - they don't have any teeth to do so (scarce as hens' teeth?)

in the UK, cows eat cows brains, that's why "mad cow diease" came about.
And God knows what chickens are fed, prob cows brains as well..
