i lived in philly for about 40 years and south jersey a little over 30 years. depending on where in philly you'll be working i suggest south jersey would be safer. stay away from camden and lindinwold. if you're working in center city try to commute via the high speed line (runs from center city phila to lindenwold. good, clean, reliable train service. used it for twenty years. you can commute via auto also but parking in center city phila. is far to expensive as a general rule..

From one who knows, most would opt for South Jersey, pay the small bridge tolls but enjoy a better community lifestyle.

Philly is getting expensive.

Many South Jersey townships are still affordable.

Do your research first before you decide to move.

Don't pay high real estate taxes if you plan to buy property.

Some towns are way too high and it's not worth it.

Some are still modest, but have been increasing as well.

Not an easy decision.

South Jersey. I personally think it's a lot nicer and cheaper, but check out the prices of homes/apartments and then decide.

It depends on how far you're willing to drive and housing availability between the two states.
