People are social animals. Some people have a greater fear of being separated from the "herd" than others. People with low self-esteem fear rejection the most. They need more external validation than those with higher self-esteem.

People are afraid of being rejected because hearing that rejection line lowers your own self esteem. It has a negative impact on your mind. Some people get hurt by it others don't depends on the type of person they are.

I like to think that I can get anything I want, and so I fear rejection bc that would mean I can't, and I would have to deal with that - and that would just be a blow to my confidence

because it could harm their egos, we humans have this way of dealing with our prides sometimes that we dont want to do something when we think that we are going to be rejected in the end

All humans being need to be loved and accepted the way they are Its a basic and fundamental need that even animals have to be healthy

Because rejections "feels bad" and we hate to feel badly...

It feels bad because rejection means you or your ideas or whatever are not chosen and it makes us fear we do not measure up...
