I can't remember a time when wearing a seatbelt wasn't the law. Ever since I was little I was told to buckle up when in the car.
When I was about ten there was an accident up the road from my house - the driver was the older brother of a guy I went to school with - because he wasn't wearing a seatbelt he went through the windscreen. He lost 100% sight in one eye & 80% in the other, they had just left the house across the road from me...hadn't even travelled 500 metres...
That was a lesson for me. I have NEVER driven without my seatbelt & I get upset when others wont wear theirs ~ I don't want your death on my conscience thank you very much.

Pretty much. It's a habit now. You know how, if you have a favorite article of clothing or jewery, you just don't feel dressed unless you're wearing it? That's pretty much the way I feel when I get into a car. If the seatbelt's not on... it feels like there's something wrong.

I've always wear it, even when I was deployed in Iraq when I might need to jump out of the truck in a moment's notice, the 2 seconds it takes to unclick it is well worth it considering what happens if you get hit by a roadside bomb and blown out of your seat.

Absolutely EVERY time! And not because I'm afraid of getting a ticket.

I always wear a seat belt, always. It is so convenient. Why risk being hurt? It is the only intelligent thing to do when you get into a car!
