Accessories for chocolate brown velvet dress for Christmas party! Help!?

I am a black dress, silver accessories kinda girl. I have a "cool" complexion so black and silver just "go." Every piece of jewelry I own is silver. My dress shoes are black. So this year I decided to mix things up a bit. I bought this ankle length chocolate velvet dress. It has long sleeves, an empire waist, and a low-cut square neckline. It's cool because the velvet is slit on each side up to the thigh to expose this gorgeous shimmery chocolate satin underneath. So my question is: What do I wear with it? I don't mind wearing gold, but I don't usually so I'm afraid I'll pick something gaudy. Shoes? Necklace? Earrings? If this helps I have very long brownish red hair that will be worn up. Should I skip jewelry and find a gold hair accessory? ARGH! Maybe brown wasn't such a good idea........

If you have brownish red hair - I think Brown is going to look great on you. Especially with the velvet- the shimmer will look really good.

Ok lets see: It's ankle length, and all one color ... so you have the option of spicing it up with the shoe. I suggest getting something that has a peep toe ( not something that is toooo strappy, and nothing too boxy or closed toe..... Perhaps some great brown peep toe pumps, or gold heels w/ a few straps...

Since your hair is goin to be worn up I think a hair accessory would look great!

Long sleeves dont really require bracelets but a BIG, eyecatching ring would look gorgeous.... try to get a mani too if you can ;)

Necklace and small earrings or larger / longer earrings and no necklace... i wouldn't do hoop earrings i would some maybe some chandelier type earrings.

I think it's going to look beautiful.

Don't panic. Silver can be paired with chocolate brown. Avoid a low hanging necklace with an empire top. Instead opt for a choker like necklace with either stud earrings or small hoops.

Get a simple shimmering silver pendant- don't get too many accessories cuz it may ruin the whole "look" and the dress seems beautiful on its own. Since your hair will be worn up, wear cute dangle earrings- anything white or silver- indicates the classiness of snow, anything shimmering nicely too. I think you should invest more in a dainty hair asccessory though cuz the way you described your dress is really nice, and you may ruin your look with too much accessories. Keep it simple<3

Gold is your best bet... you could also wear red. If the dress as a jewel in the center.. skip wearing a necklace. Go simple with earrings... diamond studs maybe ,and gold strappy sandals. Go with the gold hair accessory.

Go for gold, with chocalte brown, it looks fabulous. Silver will get lost on the dark colur. But go for smaller pieces of jewelry ranther big chunky stuff, except for the earrings.

Suggest you wear your hair up, and get some chandelier or drop earrings - gold, or gold with diamonds, topaz, or smoky quartz. Pearl earrings will also work.
You won't need a necklace, people will admire your 'neckline' instead.

hi, pink gown wld be effective bt make certain the pink color that u choose is bright pink and that i wild choose a gold metalic heels with it! overall, a pair of pink heels wld make u look taller... carry a carry close bag and dont over placed on ur upload-ons, save it common and fashionable!! each and each of the finished and may u earnings from the social gathering with a good number of exciting!! =)
