for best performance, sleep or hibernate. but for security why not shut down.

This is a question that comes up often without any satisfactory conclusions being offered.

I prefer to shut my machine down to save power, I see little point to giving my money to the power Cos.

There are advantages for and against, I don't think there is a great deal difference between either.

Hi. It will boot faster from hibernation than a cold reboot. Even faster from 'Standby'. I would turn if off when you won't use it for hours. And I prefer rebooting.
