Hello. If an offer letter says you are entitled to a year end bonus (to be paid in January) as long as you are employed and in good standing through December 15, 2007, is the firm obligated to give it to the employee if the employee quits on Dec 16?

An offer letter does not *always* constitute a contract, even if accepted by the employee. There is often language in subsequent documents, signed when you are hired, that allows them to make changes as they see fit.

I'd stick around till the check clears :)

Possession is 9/10ths of the law, and it seems you are already emotionally out of there, which could constitute a question as to your "good standing".
