A poem would be great, and also cleaning up around the house, and bring home some flowers! I have been married 14 years, and even though I work outside the home too, I still do most of the cleaning around the house. We even have a cleaning lady once a week, but that doesn't take care of everything for the entire week.
If you're bringing home flowers that are not in a vase, make sure you have a vase at home or other appropriate container in which to put them. I think if my husband wrote me a poem I would be pleasantly surprised, but also a bit suspicious of what he wants from me or what he did for which he needs my forgiveness. As far as my reaction, I would of course be happy, hug and kiss, feel more romantic. You may want to follow the poem presentation with a dinner date. Maybe be careful to not over-do the poem so that she may think you are going to propose...unless that is your intention. Your relationship may not be as long-term as mine, so please ignore any pointers which may be irrelevant to you.

No, my husband is a fine artist, not a writer ... but he can and does draw special pictures just for me all the time, and gives them to me for 'gifts' at holidays and special occasions. I am always surprised, and I always know how much I am loved when he does this ... so it's the same as if he was a writer who wrote me a poem. If you are thinking about writing a poem for your wife, do it ... it may not be 'the best poem' ever written, but if you do it with love, she'll love it and love you for doing it for her. I can guarantee that!

No,..i'd rather you do the dishes and clean the bathroom while your at it. Then when your done and you want to surprise me even more,...roses always buts a smile on my face. And if it came with a poem I guess that woud be nice too :)

I'm not sure how i would react if my husband did something like that for me. Sense i don't have
to worry about him ever doing that because he thinks that stuff is corny as hell and i agree.

I think I would giggle and then probably cry I would feel overwhelmed because I know if mu hubby did that for me it would have taken him quite a long time to perfect and that just makes it extra special

Or would you like him to take out the garbage, dry the dishes, empty the dishwasher or any similar item "just because". Wouldn't you like him to recognize you for your worth and value as a human and a spouse because you deserve it.pp

Awwww, first thing is, I'd start crying. (cause that means alot) I'd finish reading it, kiss him and who knows after that! I would put it in my scrapbook in a special section or have it nicely framed. I'd feel special!!!!
