Great question. Finally a question with substance.

I agree with Mark Twain's quote to a point. I am not uniformed because I don't read the newspaper because there are so many alternative ways to get the news. Of course there was no internet or satellite radio in his days. I would be uniformed if I did not search for the truth, regardless of what manner I use. I agree with him entirely that the newspaper is full of misinformation. Nearly every newspaper in the country, and indeed throughout the world is biased in one way or another.

The quote from George Bernard Shaw does not ring very true to me. People have a tendency to bite the hand that feeds them. If nothing else, I would hope he is wrong, and that people give support to those who benefit there country, as opposed to those who dodge issues and run a passive government as we have seen for many years.

I like G. Gordon Liddy's quote because it seems to identify the liberals for who they really are. But as an independent, I share a similiar disgust for the conservative passive approach to politics.

James Bovard made an excellent point. In fact, he has defined our electoral process perfectly.

Disagree mostly.

Nice, quoting the criminal Liddy.

EDIT:
No confusion here. Liddy served four and a half years in prison for his role in the Watergate burglary.
